VTI + VXUS hold 12,158 number of stocks. VT holds 9,950 number of stocks. So which ETF would truly be total world.

I know that VT is called total world stock. But if you buy both VTI and VXUS. Those two etf's combined actually hold more stocks together than VT holds alone. So would VTI plus VXUS actually be a truly more total world ETF than VT? Thoughts guys on why this is? What could be those extra 2,208 stocks that VTI and VXUS hold if you buy both ETFs. Reply: how you guys make a lot of sense. I truly believe that VT is the way to go on a taxable and VTWAX is the way to go in a Roth IRA or retirement account of course.
